At the Pop Up Labs workshop during Exponential Medicine today with co-founders Anna Young and Jose Gomez-Marquez, participants became newly certified health makers. Working in groups, they experienced how to democratize design for discharge and construct smart health devices. The results - a smart pill bottle, a quantified spoon, a smart inhaler, and a DIY activity tracker. What were the responses from our new makers? The processes were empowering, simple, reminiscent of "Ikea" design, collaborative, and intuitive. Above all, they were excited to think about how the maker studio kits will augment medical making at the point of care.
Thanks to Anna and Jose for growing the maker health community with Deloitte at the Exponential Medicine Innovation Lab! Look out for Anna at TedMed on Nov 18-20, 2015 http://www.tedmed.com/speakers/show?id=526382.
