They're in-house developed ORION system (On-Road Integrated Optimization and Navigation) plots an optimal route for each delivery truck at the start of the day, and saves the company 100 million delivery miles, and the environment 100,000 metric tons of CO2. The next phase of ORION is to have routes dynamically updated throughout the day based on changing delivery requirements, weather, and traffic patterns.
